Database Specific Help

Note: Kushal supports 2 types of databases. There is a very small difference between these 2 type of databases.

  1. Server-based Databases (MySQL & MSSQL) - In Server-based databases, Kushal will create application with Databases  Menu where users can configure the database.
  2. File-based Databases (MS Access & SQLite) - In File-based databases, Kushal will create application with File Menu where users can create files.

Database Configurations

  1. Configure Server-based Database (MySQL & MSSQL)
  2. To configuring Server-based Database Application using Kushal, you can create multiple databases (accounts) on a single application.

    To configure database follow the below steps

     

    Click on Databases

     

    Click on Configure Database option

     

    Configure Database window will open.

     

    Click on the New Button

     

    Enter Database and Server Details

     

    (Name: Name of the Company / Connection string name which will display on Login window)

     

    Click on Save

     

    If the given credentials are valid, then Database will get created on the server. You must use the same Database through the application.

     

    If given database already exists in the server, then application will get connect to the same database.

     

    To work with the created database, click on switch database option.

     

    If you have used user management option in your application, then you will get a Login window.

     

    Select the Company name, enter User name and password and click on the Login button.

     

    If you have not used user management, you will get the "List of Databases", window.

     

    Select the Database from the grid and click on the Switch button.

     

     

    To Close the running database, click on "Close Database" option.

     

    To close application. click on Exit.

     

     

     

     

     

     

     

  3. Configure File Based Database(MS Access & SQLite)

    Configuring File Base Database in application which is generated by Kushal is very easy. Kushal enables you to create multiple files (accounts) on single application.

    To configure a database file, follow the below steps

     

    Click on File

     

    Click on the New file option.

     

     

    Enter File Database File Name.

     

    Select the path to store the database file.

     

    Please ensure that, you read and write privileges for the given path.

     

    Click on Default button. This option will set the given path as default path for all your future application files. 

     

    Click on save.

     

    Now Database file will get created in specified path and you can use it throughout your application.

     

    To open old/ already created database files Click on Open file.

     

    Select the path and file.

     

    Recent files option will show you several recently used files.

     

    To close the currently opened Database file, click on close file option.

     

    To close the application click on Exit.

     

     

Connection String: For-each of the databases connection string will vary as follows:

  • MySQL - Server=localhost;DataBase=lead_Management;User=root;Password=1234;
  • MS SQL - Server=SQLEXPRESS;Database=Lead_Management;Trusted_Connection=True;
  • MS Access - dsn=MS Access Database;Driver={Microsoft Access Driver (*.mdb, *.accdb)};Dbq=D:\MSAccess_Lead_Management\Access\Lead_Management.mdb
  • SQLite - Data Source=C:\SQLite_Lead_Management.s3db;
